Victoria F. Alcantara Memorial Scholarship

Victoria Faye Alcantara was a loving daughter, JMU aKDPhi sister, and devoted student of the JMU Nursing program. She passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2009 following a car accident. She is remembered as a caring, loving, and hardworking daughter, nursing student, and sister of alpha Kappa Delta Phi, and is dearly missed by all who knew her.

Soon after her passing, JMU alpha Kappa Delta Phi became a lead donor in establishing a memorial scholarship endowment to keep her giving spirit and dedication to nursing alive. Our goal is to support nursing students at JMU in becoming successful nurses who help others, thus fulfilling the dream that Victoria could never fulfill herself.

Today, the Victoria F. Alcantara '10 Memorial Scholarship in Nursing is gifted to a junior or senior undergraduate nursing student at JMU who demonstrates excellent academic performance, leadership skills, and nursing care.
